Flagler County Public Schools

“Raising Student Achievement Every Day, Every Way”

• Flagler County has more than 8000 computers in our public schools.  We are striving for a 1:1 ratio.  Currently it is a 3:1 ratio.

• Business partners will contribute more than one million dollars to the District over the next seven (7) years

to support supplemental programs.

• The Extended Day Program provides before and/or after school child care for 800 students in elementary schools.

• Each school has the services of a full-time nurse.

• Students in Flagler County Schools come from 42 countries and speak 35 different languages and dialects.

• The School Board consists of five members who represent individual districts, but are elected countywide.  The Superintendent is appointed.

• Each school has a School Advisory Council (SAC) made up of parents, students, educators and community members.  SAC helps develop and implement School Improvement Plans for each school.

In 2008, all nine of Flagler's traditional schools and the district itself received an A rating from the Florida Department of Education -- the only district in the state to achieve the honor.

For the past 2 years, Flagler County Public Schools has been rated an “A” District by the Florida accountability system.  For more information www.flaglerschools.com
